Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming medicine, science, technology, and many other sectors. As its influence grows, associations and conference organisers are increasingly looking for meaningful ways to address AI in their congress programmes. This white paper provides six practical tips to help you successfully integrate AI topics into your conference. It also includes a case study from the AI for Good summit in Geneva, highlighting different approaches to presenting AI during a major international summit.

This White paper was co-written by AI for Good and the Geneva Convention Bureau. The AI for Good Global Summit was established in 2017 by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the United Nations (UN) agency for digital technologies, and is organised every year in Geneva. Organised by ITU in partnership with over 50 UN partners and co-convened with the Government of Switzerland, the Summit has grown from 1’000 to 11’000 participants in 2025, with 800 speakers from 169 countries. It is now one of the largest multi stakeholder AI events in the world. Meanwhile, the Geneva Convention Bureau contributes its extensive expertise in the meetings industry, supporting international associations in designing and delivering impactful conferences and congresses in Geneva.
