Legend has it that the name of the Cornavin train station in Geneva comes from an old inn that went by the name of the " Corne à Vin", The Wine Horn, which brought together tardy people who had not managed to get back to the old town of Geneva in time for the nighttime curfew, when the gates to the city slammed shut at nightfall for safety. Some historians will argue otherwise saying the name could come from the episcopal vines that covered the hill until the early fifteenth century.
Centrally located, only 5 minutes from the train station and 10 minutes from the airport by public transport, the foundations of this building were built with different stones of the region mounted in three separate vaults. Initially, the latter contained a brewery, which was completely filled with earth at the beginning of the century to allow the surrounding buildings to erect along the rue de Lausanne.
The building above these vaults had to undergo major renovations in 2016 which in turn gave us the opportunity to restore the vaulted cellars making them an ideal venue for various events.
